Once you’ve found your desired color, click OK. If not, use the panel to select your desired color. If you know the exact RGB hexadecimal values for your desired color, just paste or type it into the corresponding fields. You will use this window to change your background color. The window that appears is called Color Picker.

In the Mode: section, open the drop-down list and select Multiply and click OK. Don’t touch the Color field, as it won’t just change your background color, it will mess with the entire image. This layer will be your background, so let’s call it New Background in this case. In the panel in the upper part of the screen, navigate to the Layer section, select New Fill Layer from the drop-down menu, and select Solid Color. Create a New Fill Layerįirst, select the original Layer 0 from the Layers panel. Keep in mind that some adding and subtracting from the selection may be necessary and prepare to use the Feather Edge tool. For example, you may need to take out a shadow or two, depending on your original photo and of the item in question. Refine your selection with the tools in the upper-left corner. Select On Layers (Y) and under Output Settings, choose Output To: Layer Mask. Go to View, in the upper right corner under the Properties tab. Navigate to the Magic Wand tool in the toolbar and click the Options bar at the top of the Photoshop window.
